Overview

We’re hiring a Junior Content Creator Apprentice to join The Tab’s HQ. This is a 13-month role for an ambitious apprentice who is chronically online and wants hands-on experience creating social media content. You should be a self-starter and excited to get your teeth sunk into the fast-paced world of socials.

The Tab is a global news site covering youth culture and entertainment, with 8 M+ readers a month. We cover everything from Netflix to politics, as well as dominating uni campuses all over the UK. The Tab is part of Digitalbox Plc – the growing media company behind Entertainment Daily!, TV Guide, The Poke, The Daily Mash, Emmerdale Insider, Royal Insider, and Reality Shrine.

 

In this role, you’ll be numbers-driven and creative. We’re looking for someone to create content that showcases our journalists' stories and massively grow our audiences across several platforms.

 

This person will primarily work across our network of Facebook pages, creating picture and video content, ensuring growth, and contributing ideas and insights to our social media team. You will also have the opportunity to work across TikTok and Instagram. You’ll join a team of 12 journalists, creating daily content for our accounts, working directly with our Senior Social Editor.

 

The role offers flexible home and office working at our East London office, Second Home Spitalfields, but the ability to visit the office regularly is preferred. The office has a gorgeous roof terrace, hosts weekly Thursday drinks, and is dog-friendly!

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Creating engaging pictures and memes for Facebook, which are paired with articles that have been published throughout the day
  • Sourcing viral video content
  • Creating or editing original video content
  • Aggressively increasing our Facebook reach and engagement
  • Distributing our best content across channels like Reddit, TikTok, and Instagram 
  • Working towards audience and follower growth targets to ensure month-on-month growth

 

You must have: 

  • A strong understanding of Facebook and a keen interest in learning about publishing on Instagram, TikTok, and Reddit.
  • A genuine passion for TV and entertainment
  • Proven experience in prioritising and managing multiple tasks at once
  • A keen eye for viral content and what Gen Z is loving and hating right now
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Big ambitions, a growth mindset, and a love of analytics
  • Experience in Canva is preferred but not required

Entry requirements

A mimimum of GCSE Grades 4/C or above in both Maths and English (evidencable)

You must be able to evidence your interest in youth culture (TikTok, Reddit etc.)

Must be able to commute to London office atleast once per week.

The primary duties we cover on our Content Creator apprenticeship are:

  • Plan and develop creative content aligned with the brief and budget/costs.
  • Interpret the strategy and objectives of the brand and align these to the content.
  • Research, prepare and develop the media messaging to maximise audience engagement.
  • Develop and create written content for various media.
  • Create visual and audio content for multiple media.
  • Store content securely and methodically to enable efficient access and retrieval.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to plan and align content delivery with business objectives.
  • Manage content online using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the content produced against the original plan and recommend improvements.

Things to consider

Some evening work may be required when remaining up to date with the latest trends. Hours: 9 am-6 pm weekdays (with the option to start at 8 am and finish at 5 pm). 4.30 pm Friday finishes 25 days holiday a year plus bank holidays An extra day off on your birthday Access to our plant-filled office in Spitalfields, East London Company-wide parties, away days, and retreats every year A company MacBook
