They sell their products on a variety of ecommerce marketplaces including their own retail website.

 

The Role

Festive Lights are looking to strengthen the team with an enthusiastic, emerging graphic designer for the Festive Lights business. Reporting to the Design Manager, the candidate will be introduced to digital design practices and principles for ecommerce platforms, learning from the team and assisting with artwork requests. These requests include contributing to broadcast emails, internal and external social assets, website banners, image editing and more, learning and engaging with friendly and experienced colleagues. The role invites creativity, personality and enthusiasm to best showcase the company's market leading indoor and outdoor lighting products, whilst maintaining the Festive Lights branding guidelines and ethos, sharing the joy.
 

Core Responsibilities:

Under guidance of the design manager and broader team, you will be involved in: 

  • Assisting with creation of artwork assets for the retail/ business website, social channels and adhoc jobs upon request. 
  • Reporting on broadcast email performance.
  • Creating social assets for local social channels and their PPC platform.
  • Digital artwork, including website visual assets, UX/UI designs for new and existing projects, advertising assets.
  • Editing lifestyle and product imagery with the photographer.
  • Work to a weekly/monthly plan with the Design and Marketing team.
     

Skills & Experience

  • Educational experience in Graphic Design or similar.
  • Junior / entry level, someone with an eye for design and enthusiasm to learn.
  • Build confidence to contribute to team discussions.
  • Basic knowledge of using the Adobe suite, primarily Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Ability to work on tasks solely and part of the greater team.
  • Digitally savvy with an interest in creating content for socials.
  • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours and travel when required. (including nights and weekends) Overtime/ time back is offered to compensate these occasions.
  • Having a driving license is preferred, but not essential.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday.
  • Flexitime working, starting between 8AM -9:30AM. Finishing between 16:30 – 18:00.
  • 7 hour 30 minute day.

 

Hybrid working:

  • Once settled, the apprentice can work 1 day in the office and 4 days remote working. Extra days in the office will be mandatory when requested.
  • It’s essential you can get yourself into the office on Mondays and other days when required. Advise to be within commuting/public transport distance.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE maths and English to grade C/ level 4 or above.
  • A keen eye for graphics and a desire to get into the marketing industry.

Training to be provided

Apprentify's Digital Marketing apprenticeships are designed to bring up-and-coming talent through the ranks of an organisation. Our programmes offer apprentices industry experience. Our Level 3 Multi-channel Marketing apprenticeship equates to an A-Level qualification, with the added benefit of on-the-job experience and sector knowledge.


Things to consider

The salary will be £15,000 - £17,000 for the first twelve months, depending on experience. After that, you will be paid at least national minimum wage for your age.
