Overview

We are looking for a creative, proactive and highly organised Marketing & Social Media Executive to join the pro-manchester team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about storytelling, digital marketing and live events, with a strong interest in creating engaging content and growing online communities.

You will play a key role in promoting pro-manchester’s events, membership and brand across multiple platforms. From creating and capturing content at events to managing and developing social media channels, you will help bring the pro-manchester community to life both online and offline. Full training will be provided on internal systems, but enthusiasm, creativity and a willingness to learn are essential..

 

Key Responsibilities

Marketing, Content & Communications

  • Manage and update the pro-manchester Newsroom and Blog,
  • Liaise with internal teams, members and external contributors to source and curate content.
  • Assess and report on newsroom and website performance, using insights to inform content strategy.
  • Write and produce PR, opinion pieces and promotional copy aligned with the pro-manchester brand.
  • Manage relationships with media partners and third-party suppliers.
  • Develop, implement and execute marketing campaigns for key events and initiatives across the pro-manchester calendar.
  • Produce and coordinate online and offline marketing materials, including brochures, presentations and event collateral.
  • Ensure all content is accurate, on-brand and proofread to a high standard.
  • Support the promotion of pro-manchester membership, business development products.

Social Media & Digital Channels

  • Manage and grow pro-manchester’s social media accounts (including LinkedIn, Instagram and other relevant platforms).
  • Plan, schedule and monitor daily social media content, ensuring consistent tone and messaging.
  • Create engaging social content including copy, graphics, short-form video and photography.
  • Capture live content at events, including photos, videos, quotes and behind-the-scenes moments.
  • Write and publish post-event content such as blogs, recaps and highlight posts.
  • Engage with online audiences through comments, messages and reactions to build community.
  • Set up and develop new social or digital channels that could benefit pro-manchester and expand reach.
  • Monitor social media performance and provide insights and recommendations for growth.

Email Marketing

  • Manage the email marketing schedule for events, brand activity and membership communications.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly newsletters.
  • Create targeted email campaigns using Cvent and Mailchimp.
  • Maintain and update the e-marketing database, ensuring GDPR compliance.
  • Track and assess email campaign performance to optimise engagement and conversion.

Website Management

  • Manage and update the pro-manchester website and key event microsites.
  • Improve website content, usability and conversion points.
  • Support site builds and digital marketing projects to maximise sales and engagement opportunities.

Events & Event Marketing

  • Support the marketing and delivery of major pro-manchester events, including:
  • Handle event bookings, amendments and cancellations.
  • Prepare event badges, QR codes and supporting materials.
  • Create event slides, presentations and promotional assets.
  • Set up and manage LinkedIn event pages and promotional posts.
  • Send direct email communications to promote events and increase attendance.
  • Attend events to provide on-site support and capture content for marketing use.
  • Work closely with Event Managers, the COO and CEO to ensure messaging supports ticket sales and sponsorship objectives.

Entry requirements

•  5 GCSEs grade A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English and Maths)

 

Skills Required:

  • Creative content writer
  • Strong written communication and copywriting skills.
  • Confident creating content across digital platforms, including social media and email.
  • Experience using design tools such as Canva.
  • Comfortable capturing content at live events using a smartphone or camera.
  • Organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Proactive, creative and keen to learn.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Calmness in a highly pressurised environment
  • Aptitude to learn new software such as marketing automation, email provides, social media management tools and analytics tools
  • Good administration and IT Skills – excellent understanding of all MS Office packages

Training to be provided

The Juice Academy is a digital marketing Academy based in Castlefield, Manchester. They train up to 80 apprentices a year, whilst the apprentices work with businesses around the North West (and sometimes further afield!). The training is delivered by industry professionals from their sister company, Tangerine Communications. The Juice Academy training sessions are a hybrid of face-to-face learning within the academy in Castlefield, and online delivery via Zoom. Apprentices will also receive the on the job training in the workplace. The final three months of the course will be the ‘assessment period’ during which apprentices are expected to produce a portfolio of work and complete a series of assessments. Full digital marketing training to be provided on-the-job and off-the-job. The Juice Academy partner with Apprentify, who support apprentices in the workplace through development coaching.

The qualification will include:
•    Level 3 Content Creator


Things to consider

Salary: 20-22k, per annum, depending on experience. Where the demands of your job require, you will be expected to work additional hours as may be necessary to attend evening events. There is the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays, subject to there being no events or event prep on that day.

Future Prospects

The first step in this role is to progress into a Manager position, taking on increased responsibility for campaigns, strategy, and team coordination.
